About us
Hi, I’m Sinead (picture of me with my lovely GSD, Mr. Red).
I run Short Bark ‘N’ Strides.
I am a dog trainer, having undertaken training with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and a trainee behaviourist, with the School of Canine Science. I am also a dog walker, specialising in training walks, and a 5 * dog boarder licensed by Trafford Council.
I am also a Kids Around Dogs approved professional, which is a specialist area of interest and knowledge of mine, due to also being a qualified children’s social worker.
I love dogs and love working with people and families, so this is the perfect blend of my knowledge and skills.

Highly-qualified Dog Training
A well-trained dog is a happy dog. Whether you have a dog that pulls on the lead, jumps up at guests, doesn’t come back when you call them, or displays anxious behaviour, I can help you and your dog learn new ways to tackle their issues.
As well as being an experienced dog owner myself, I have undertaken training with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and am a trainee behaviourist, with the School of Canine Science
experienced Dog Walking and Home Visits
Busy, working lives often mean that our dogs are left at home for a number of hours without walk, or we have to dash home at midday to take them out. Here at Short Bark ‘N’ Strides, we are able to arrange a time to ensure they get a walk and both mental stimulation and physical exercise.
We can also offer to pop into your home and let your dog out into the garden if a short visit is all that you require.
In choosing Short Bark ‘N’ Strides, you are selecting a 5 Star dog boarder licensed by Trafford Council.
Home Boarding you can trust
Taking a holiday is so important, but can often be slightly overshadowed with concern for your pet. Leaving your extra member of the family in boarding can be worrying. Here at Short Bark ‘N’ Strides, we offer “Home from Home” boarding. Your dog will actually live with us, as a member of our family. No kennels, no outside cages. They will spend every day with us at home and curl up in front of the TV with us in the evening.

I asked Sinead to come to the house to work on recall for my very cheeky sproodle Belle. Being part Springer, Belle would often have her nose to the ground and have that ‘selective’ hearing when it came to coming back to me on walks. It made me nervous and I had stopped letting her off the lead. Sinead gave me some games to play at home to encourage recall and some tips to work on with Belle as a family. I have recently been to Cornwall and can’t tell you how lovely it was to have Belle completely off lead running into the water having fun and coming back every single time I called her (even when she had made friends with other dogs or wanted to join others picnics. I couldn’t have done it without Sinead’s help! She was honest, realistic and most importantly she was completely dog driven. All aspects of the training were fun and enjoyable for Belle! Sinead has been extremely patient with our very strong and pully German shepherd Bruno, plenty of visits were made to our house and lots of loose lead training in the garden was carried out before Sinead took Bruno out for a walk helping them both become confident with each other first. After thinking about getting somebody in to help out and walk Bruno as we’ve returned to work it’s turned out to be the best thing we could have done and we’ve definitely picked the right person!
